  1. Red Tide

  2. No

    Just worry about sharks

  3. There several species of red tide.  Some are hazardous if you consume shellfish which are harvested from an infected area, some are capable of causing direct injury through inhalation.  I got a respiratory infection last fall that was more than likely caused by surfing during red tide conditions.

  4. I surf at Manhattan beach and this happens alot during the summer. Their are often green bubbles that form near algae patches its also orange sometimes. Ive been surfing in it for a while and I'm still fine. I'm pretty sure it wont hurt you, or the life guards would have said something.

  5. everything is harmful in the water, stay out! surfing sucks anyway, don't try it!

  6. I wouldn't think so but I can't say for sure as we don't usually see algae in our beaches here in Hawaii, mostly just seaweed.  I would think that one would be more concerned about sharks in the water than algae.  =P

  7. red tide is something you want to avoid

surprisingly it will only affect you if u eat sea food thats been exposed to that not if u swim in play or drink it..

not sure why i just learned that in class

still it looks dirty when u get out of the water
