Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers wants to remain at franchise for life - NFL News
When quarterback, Aaron Rodgers first took over from Green Bay Packers legend, Brett Favre, he was faced with boos by the Lambeau Field crowd who were not happy with the team management decision to let go of the legend.
However, Rodgers did not let that poor first reception keep him down and the quarterback put in one brilliant performance after the other to become the Packers fan favourite.
His biggest achievement with Green Bay was leading the team to a Super Bowl win in the 2010-11 season and almost leading them to an unbeaten regular season record in the 2011-12 season.
In an interview with the Green Bay Press-Gazette the quarterback outlined his desire to remain at Lambeau Field for the rest of his career.
With three years still left on his current deal, Rodgers does not have to worry about his contract situation now but touched on it anyway during the interview.
He said.
"I think they’re an organization who is going to do what’s best for the organization,"
Adding further he continued.
"Obviously my representation, just like any representation, is trying to get the most money possible at times. I don’t see it being an issue. I want to be a Packer for life and I don’t see myself going anywhere else. I don’t think they would even get close
to that.”
With the form currently being displayed by Rodgers it seems likely that he will not face much problem in getting the deal he deserves from Green Bay.
Rodgers won the National Football League (NFL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award last season after putting up awe-inspiring numbers.
The quarterback passed for 4,643 yards with a 68.3% completion rate and passed 45 touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions in the entire season.
These numbers gave him a NFL best ranking of 122.5 in the league.
Rodgers continued.
“When the negotiation time does come I have confidence in my representation and I know we’re going to do a fair deal, it’s fair for them and for me. And hopefully I’ll feel good about it.”
Packers fans are lucky to have a player like Rodgers in their roster and with him the franchise can be guaranteed to challenge for the playoffs in each season.
