Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver wants to stay a Packer for life - NFL News
Green Bay Packers are still remaining mum over the future of their veteran wide receiver, Donald Driver.
Driver is currently participating in the reality television show “Dancing with the Stars” and has reached the finals although the concerns over his future continue to follow him with fans worried to see their legend move on to another franchise.
His agent, Jordan Woy has continued to state that the receiver’s future will be resolved once his commitment to the show comes to an end but refuse to speculate whether they will keep the wide receiver in the roster.
Speaking to the Green Bay Press Gazette on Friday, he spoke about his future with the franchise.
"I think so many people right now are worried if I'm going to be a Packer. I'm still under contract. My contract is not over with the Packers. I will be a Packer for life. I don't think that's ever going to change."
His statement is no different from his previous interviews as he has repeatedly stated his intention to retire from the game with the Packers.
Driver’s agent, has also maintained that the wide receiver is going nowhere and will remain with the Packers for the foreseeable future.
The wide receiver added further.
“I think that’s what I want the fans to understand. Don’t worry. If you haven’t heard it from me or you haven’t heard it from the Packers, you can’t listen to the reporters, the media. … You have to trust me, and you also have to trust the Packers that I
will be a Packer for life.”
Driver has been a major part of the franchise’s success over the years after spending 13 seasons playing at Lambeau Field since being drafted by the Packers in 1999.
The wide receiver, has a career 735 receptions for a gain of 10,060 yards and has scored 59 touchdowns.
Last season though did not go too well for Driver as he took just 37 receptions for a gain of 445 yards and scored six touchdowns in the process.
Hopefully his latest statements will placate the fans who do not want to see the back of one of their best players over the years.
