Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver wows audiences, wins dancing competition - NFL News
Three Pro-Bowl selections and a Super Bowl win plus holding records of the highest receptions and receiving yards gained for the Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Donald Driver has done it all in his 13-year long and illustrious career at the franchise.
Driver or Tuesday added a new off-the-field achievement to his long list of awards as he was named the winner alongside his partner, Peta Murgatroyd of ABC Network’s reality television show, Dancing with the Stars.
It was a close call for Driver who made it to Tuesday’s finale alongside two other teams and just about managed to win after the judges points were combined with audience votes to announce the winner.
The wide receiver’s victory was met with a string of congratulatory messages from his teammates on social media website, Twitter.
Tight end, Jermichael Finley wrote.
"Yesssir! D.Driver Wins!"
While Wisconsin governor, Scott Walker, tweeted.
"Congrats to Donald Driver for bringing home #DWTS Mirror Ball to Titletown! #Packers.,"
With his commitment to the show over, it will now be time for Driver and his agent, Jordan Woy to get down to serious business and secure his future with the Packers.
Green Bay Packers still have not confirmed whether or not the veteran wide receiver will re-join the team in the upcoming 2012-13 season.
The bone of contention could be that Driver is set to earn $ 5 million if he plays in the upcoming season.
Last year the wide receiver’s productivity decreased significantly as he made just 37 receptions for a gain of 445-yards but scored six touchdowns in the process.
For now though Driver can celebrate in his victory as he added another trophy to his collection.
After wowing fans with his brilliant runs down the field for 13-years, Driver showed that he can do more than just run, as the show’s audience were mesmerised by his country-themed free style dance routine.
His agent after Driver’s win tweeted.
"Congrats to Donald Driver winning DWTS!! Now it is time to get ready for another season with the Packers!"
The ball is now in the franchise’s court to end the ambiguity surrounding Driver’s position in the team roster and bring him back for another season at Lambeau Field.
