Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings ready for playoffs return - NFL News
The Green Bay Packers are a scary proposition already for any side but they are set to grow stronger with Pro-Bowl Wide Receiver Greg Jennings ready to return back to the first team roster after a whole month on the sidelines.
The Packers will play their first game of the postseason on Sunday January 15th against the winners of the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints game this Saturday. Jennings has plenty of time to recover till the big match day and is excited to be back up
and running in practice.
"Right now, my knee is as stable as it's going to be, and it's been as stable as it's going to get for the last two weeks now. So I've pretty much been cleared to do most things that we need to do as a receiver to perform at a high level. From a couple weeks
ago, like I said, it was just all mental.”
Jennings has not missed a single Packers game through injury since 2007 and the injury was tough on the running back having to witness the rest of the games from the sidelines. Coach Mike McCarthy however, feels that Jennings is fresh and ready to restart
where he left off before the injury.
"Greg looks better. He did some work today. I thought he looked good last week. I had a chance to visit with him on the field and he has no wasted motion in his stride. I feel good about where Greg is."
The wide receiver had torn his knee in week 11 against the Oakland Raiders that put a stop to Jennings brilliant season for a while. The 28-year old made 67 receptions for 949 yards this season scoring nine touchdowns including a mammoth 79-yard reception
during a 33-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
Jennings however, was not missed much by the Packers juggernaut as they continued rolling over every opponent that stood in their way. The Packers had a small scare in Week 15 against Kansas City Chiefs as they failed to win for the first time this season
but normal service was resumed against National Football Conference North Division rivals Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions with the Packers ending a brilliant season with a 15-1 record.
The Packers are the number one seed in this season’s playoffs round and have a first week bye. They have also secured home advantage throughout the playoffs. With the form they are currently in beating the Packers will take something special from the opposition
and with Jennings set to return the feat will become much harder.
