Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings still mourning playoff defeat to New York Giants
The Green Bay Packers last season were primed to repeat their feat of reaching the Super Bowl like they did in 2010.
After what was a brilliant regular season campaign where Green Bay remained undefeated for 13 games and ended up with a 15-1 regular season record the franchise faced a home fixture against the New York Giants in the divisional round game.
Everyone expected the Packers to easily crush the Giants based on their performance during the regular season.
However, it did not turn out the way Green Bay and the majority of fans and analysts were expecting.
New York Giants defeated the Packers at their own home by a resounding 37-20 victory, leaving Packers fans in shock at what had just taken place.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Greg Jennings in an interview with the National Football League’s (NFL) official website, talked about the crushing defeat and regretted the way his team performed in that encounter.
During the interview he said:
"It was tough because you know you lost to a really good team, but a team we knew we could beat and we didn't play anywhere close to our capabilities."
Adding further he said:
"A lot of things that took place in that game that made us think, 'Wow, maybe it just isn't meant for us to get it done.' "
He also wished that the Packers could go back and get another shot at the game.
"I'm not calling it a fluke by any means. I believe the Giants had it rolling, but we didn't perform. I'm not going to sit here and say we performed our best. You look at the tape, we did not perform our best. But it's one of those things you wish you could
do it over, but you can't. It is what it is."
Green Bay and Jennings will get a chance to avenge their divisional round defeat this season when they travel to face the Giants on November 25th.
This year, the Packers again look like a team that will be strong contenders for the Super Bowl and will be gunning to have another great regular season campaign.
