Green Bay Packers gearing up to face St. Louis Rams defence – NFL News
Even though Green Bay Packers are a championship team and they have weapons on offence and defence to neutralise any kind of threat, they are preparing hard to face St. Louis Rams, who have transformed into a better unit this year.
Rams’ surge and Packers’ struggles at the start of the season have certainly raised the bars for Green Bay.
Packers have a tough offence, but Rams also have a nice defence this time. The performances of both teams in the season show that this Sunday’s game between the two sides could be a nail-biter. However, both teams have to be at their best to make the matchup
exciting.
After Week 6, both Rams and Packers are 3-3 each and are desperate to win their fourth game of the season.
Packers, who returned to form after beating Houston Texans last week, are up for carrying that momentum into the game against Rams. However, they have acknowledged that Rams have a good defensive line that could trouble them.
According to the details present on Rams’ website, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said of Rams defence via a conference call:
“They’re talented. I think they do a very good job with attacking the line of scrimmage from alignments and even their personnel. So, it really starts up front with them.”
McCarthy also praised Rams’ first-year coach Jeff Fisher and said:
“I have a lot of respect for Jeff Fisher as a coach and how he goes about his business.”
He added:
“We’re just working hard, focusing on our plan. I know we’re coming in there for a tough football game.”
Meanwhile, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is unarguably among the league’s best quarterbacks playing at the moment, has said that his team will try to get maximum victories before their bye.
After facing Rams, Packers will face Jacksonville Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals before having their bye in Week 10. Rodgers is hoping to keep the winning momentum going. He said:
“It’s going to be important for us to make sure that we’re entering the bye week with momentum coming off a big win in Houston and trying to keep it going this week.”
