Green Bay Packers look to make it 10/10 as struggling Buccaneers visit in Week 11 – NFL Preview
Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a tough night ahead as they prepare to face the Green Bay Packers at the Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Sunday in game week 11 of the National Football League.
The Packers are looking to continue their perfect season to make it 10-0 with a victory on Sunday as they chase the lofty peaks of an unbeaten NFL season. The Super Bowl XLV winners are the best team in the league this season combining
a ruthless offensive unit with a defense that finally looked solid last week against the Minnesota Vikings to swat aside all challengers.
"I think we've known that we can play at this level, it's just a matter of getting it done," said linebacker Clay Matthews.
The Packers defence kept the Vikings to just 266 yards during their encounter and sacked Quarter Back Christian Ponder three times in a disciplined performance that showed the team’s potential to be the best on both the offense
and defence.
Packers quarter back Aaron Rodgers is undoubtedly the best quarter back in the league right now scoring 28 touchdowns and an unbelievable passing accuracy of 72.9% this season. With Rodgers providing the offense with a steady flow
of passes the Packers have ramped up 306.9 passing yards the third overall in the league and are scoring an average of 35.6 points per game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are wary of the threat the Packers provide with Centre Jeff Faine telling reporters
"It's not getting any easier," Tampa Bay center Jeff Faine said. "We've got a very, very huge challenge at Green Bay. We've got to play smarter and more disciplined. It's unfortunate we're in the position we're in, but we've got
to dig ourselves out."
The Buccaneers are on a three game slide losing to the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans scoring only 43 points as their offense struggles with the Buccaneers not scoring a single touchdown in the first quarter
this season.
Tampa Bay however has one statistic in their favour. The Buccaneers haven’t lost to the Packers in three consecutive games ending a 12 game losing streak the last time the two teams met each other, and if they win on Sunday which
seems highly unlikely it will be one for the fans to remember.
The Buccaneers will be counting on quarter back Josh Freeman to provide the offensive momentum as they look to end their losing streak and dispel the gloom of their fans. Freeman has a 61.2% passing accuracy and looked a little
out of sorts in the Buccaneers loss to the Houston Texans last Sunday getting sacked four times and throwing three interceptions.
I feel like I'm a better quarterback this year than I was last year," Freeman said. "As crazy as that may sound, looking at the numbers, I feel like I'm throwing the ball as well as I ever have, it's just things aren't going my
way."
With AccuScore.com software predicting that the Packers will win 88% of the time in their simulations the Buccaneers have their work cut out this Sunday being the clear underdogs in this fixture.
