Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ performance in NFL 2012 season – NFL Special
Aaron Rodgers, 28, has been playing as Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback since 2008. He was drafted by Packers in 2005 as 24th overall pick.
Rodgers’ last year record was amazing; he scored 45 touchdowns and six interceptions with quarterback rating of 122.5, setting records of best single season passer rating in NFL history and throwing 45+ touchdowns and six or fewer interceptions in a single
season.
He completed 343 of 502 passes for 4,643 yards, and Packers won 15 games of the regular season and lost one game against Kansas City Chiefs.
The start to this season was not very amusing for the Packers as they lost the season opener against San Francisco 49ers by 22-30. Rodgers scored two touchdowns while completing 30 of 44 passes for 303 yards.
Week 2 was good for Packers as they defeated Chicago Bears by 23-10, but Rodgers failed to perform well. His quarterback rating was 29.3, the lowest of the season. He was 22 of 32 for 219 with one touchdown and one interception.
September 24, 2012 was another bad day for Rodgers, who got sacked eight times in the first half of Week 3 game against Seattle Seahawks. He did not score any touchdown and completed 26 of 39 passes for 223 yards. Packers lost this game by 12-14.
Week 4 game against New Orleans Saints was tough, but Rodgers’ 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jordy Nelson took the Packers to victory (28-27).
Rodgers scored four touchdowns and completed 31 of 41 passes for 319 yards and one interception.
Rodgers was satisfied with the team’s performance, he said:
"We're four games in. So, I think the character of this team is very strong. Winning games like this says a lot about the kind of men that we have."
Packers got their third defeat of the season against Indianapolis Colts by 27-30 in Week 5. Rodgers was 20 of 32 for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
Week 6 game against Houston Texans was amazing, Packers won by 42-24. Rodgers set the best record of his career by scoring six touchdowns and the game also marked the beginning of a long winning stretch for the Packers. The quarterback was 24 of 37 for 338
yards with quarterback rating of 95.8.
Packers defeated St. Louis Rams in Week 7. Rodgers got his highest completion percentage of this season that is 81.1, and completed 30 of 37 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns.
On this victory, he said:
"We had one of our best drives of the season, for sure. It wasn't the prettiest drive, but we converted a lot of third downs.”
Packers won by 24-15 against the weakest team of this season, Jacksonville Jaguars, in Week 8. Rodgers was 22 of 35 for 186 yards and two touchdowns.
Week 9 game against Arizona Cardinals witnessed another great show from the Packers, who defeated the Cards rather easily by 31-17. Rodgers scored four touchdowns while completing 14 of 30 passes for 218 yards.
After their bye week, Packers defeated Detroit Lions by 24-20 in Week 11 game. Now Rodgers has completed 238 of 354 for 2,619 yards and scored 27 touchdowns. After a shaky start to the season, Packers are fast moving ahead and could qualify for the playoffs
if their quarterback keeps on performing well.
