Green Card - US Citizenship Question;o)?

Hi!I'm from Milan. If I Have a Green Card, can my Mommy and my Boyfriend come to US with me?

  1. Now that you have a green card, you are classed as a Lawful Permanent Resident (possibly with conditions or not, you'd have to look at your card to find out).

    As an LPR, you can petition USCIS for certain relatives to obtain an immigrant visa to allow them to become LPRs themselves. Unfortunately, there is a waiting period of anywhere from 3-15 years depending on the relationship that exists.

    An LPR only has the option of petitioning for their spouse, or unmarried children under the age of 21.

    Should you ever qualify for US Citizenship, then more options are open to you.

    At the moment there is nothing your status can do to help your Mother and boyfriend come to the US with the intention to reside.


  2. No; your green card is just for you, they have to qualify  separately.
