Its already monday and my interview is today in 7 hours. All of our stuff is legit so everything should be smooth. Now i would like to know, do we get the approval during the interview? or we find out later on if they approved our stuff (like getting the yes or no in a letter)? when do we get the actual physical green card?

  1. You will get the approval during the interview. And than after the few weeks, you will get ur greencard

  2. i'm sorry, i don't have any useful information, but i do want to wish you the best of luck. i hope you get the green cards!

  3. Do you already have your immigrant visa? I think this must depend on where you are. My wife has not been to USA yet, but she was approved for her Immigrant Visa at a US Embassy overseas. I think she will have a green card interview when we arrive in the States.  It is my assumption that once you pass the interview you will be given a document (green card) immediately and the process to get you a SSN should start too, but you won't get that the same day from what I understand.

Good luck on your interview. I am sure everything will go smooth for you too.

  4. It varies, some people are told right away and some have to wait for a decision. I've heard of people being told they will be notified and the green card arriving with the date of the interview on it. Others are told they are approved and the green card arrives with a later date.

I was told at interview I was approved and my card arrived about a month later.

Good Luck and I hope your interview is like mine. We were in there for 5 minutes and most of that was general chit chat about Scotland.
