Question:

Green Cheek Conure Ate Her Own Egg.?

I have a 3 year old green cheek conure. She lays eggs twice a year and she usually sits on them for 3 weeks. This time she ate one of the eggs that had a crack in it.

She is not breeding. These are unfertilized eggs.

Is this normal? Or should we supplement her diet with something she is missing?

  1. It is not uncommon and she may be lacking calcium in her diet. Try her with some cuttle bone. Females need more calcium when they are laying. Good luck!
