Green Cheeked Conya??

Ok I hope I spelt Conya correct..... I am trying to find out what kind bird is on my shoulder..... I found this baby bird outside my work thismorning, I know he is a pet as he has his wings clipped and I have no idea what kind of breed he is and i want to try and find his owners.....I am in Australia so if anyone knows where i can find a pic of this green faced conya it would be appricaited as I have been looking on the net for a few hours and cant find it but a guy told me he thinks that what kind of breed he/she is.....he/she is only a baby parrot and has a black fluffy head and is kinda small...has a green body a long red tail and vibrant blue wings.....thanks to anyone who can help me determine who he is and how do i find out if it is a he or a she???

  1. You should ask an Avian vet to find out the gender. You should also post a picture so we can determine what breed it is. Does the bird have anywhere to stay? The description does sound like a green cheeked conure, though. I advise that you buy it some pet food. That bird could be with you for a while.


  2. It's "Conure". And it sounds like a green cheek conure. If you found a bird, please go to www.911parrotalert.com and post a "Found" notice. While you're there, look through the "lost" notices and see if anyone has reported a lost green cheek.

  3. It does sound like it could be a green-cheeked conure.   There are pictures at http://www.pamperedpeeps.com/normagcc.ht... , which also has information on color variants.

    If the top of its head is grey/black rather than green, it's probably a green-cheek rather than the similar maroon-bellied conure.
