Just wondering what are ways to tell if my green iguana is healthy? She is about 18-20 months in age..

Also, She gets days where she doesn't eat but maybe 2 bites.. and then other days she devours everything we put in there... Any reason for that or is it as simple as shes not hungry somedays? We keep her feeding time pretty regular (about 11am-12noon)

  1. You only feed your ig 1x a day? Even when my girl was young she got fed twice a day. If she ate all her dinner meal then she got more. My girl is est to be about 2 months old (in June 08), and she eats 1 cup morning, 2 cups dinner. She has days where she doesnt eat all of it, other days she scarfs down all of it.

Have you gone threw breeding/gravid season yet w/ your girl??? You think you've got eating problems now. Might want to read up on that if you haven't already.

I would say that if you're ig is green, awake and active, taking fecal matter daily which look like what they are suppose to (does smell sourish urine color looks good stuff like that), gets calcium supplement, gets proper diet, gets checked out by vet, has had a fecal sample checked (yearly if not every 6 months), no signs of MBD, mouth rot, or any other illness igs can get, I'd say you have a healthy ig.
