Green Pool! Help?!!?

I need help making my pool clear and clean. My pool is hardcore green. Looks like swamp water. I've just put a ton of chlorine in and other stuff. I tested the pool, there is a ton of chlorine and the PH is kinda high, since the PH was kinda high i put PH down in the pool. Can someone help me what else i should do to make it clean.

You need to get that pH down to 7.2-7.4. This is the best pH level to shock at. Chlorine is very ineffective at 7.8 or higher. You need to keep that chlorine up (10ppm +), keep your system running and your filter clean, brush a couple times a day, and vacuum as often as possible. I'd avoid the "other stuff" as this can affect the effectivness of the chlorine. Algaecides should not be used when shocking the pool because the chlorine will attack the algaecide and not the algae. You can, however, use some clarifier but follow the instructions exactly. You can over clarify a pool and make it cloudy.
