Green Pool Water?

Question

Can I still go swimming in my pool even though it is green? What is the green? Is it harmful? I have had the filter going and it is still green and its really hot out and i want to go for a nice cool swim! thanks

If the green is algae you need to shock the pool to kill it all and leave the filter running to filter out the dead algae. There is a slim chance the green is copper in the water so you need to get it tested but I would try shocking it first. If this helps then it is not copper.

the green is algae and bacteria, youre never supposed to go in a green pool, it gets you really sick. try chlorine or something, go to a pool store, tell them youre pool is green and you need it clear. theyll tell you what to do...

i find this funny actually, cuz im in florida and everyone knows what a green pool is, i just didnt think anyone had no clue what it was...

but dont get in itll make you really sick, depending HOW dirty it is, you might get just a cold, or the flu (or worse)
