Green- Rumped Parrotlet or Gouldian Finch? ten Points Best Answer!?

Question

I want to buy either two Green- Rumped Parrotlets or Gouldian Finches. Based on personal experiences which do you prefer? Please give me helpful websites on these two birds. Also, what size cage would you get for two of either of these birds? THANKS

I don't have personal experiences with either species. But I do have finches,quail & parrots.

If you want the less time demanding birds go with the Lady  Gouldian's. Because finches are not birds that are really ment to be handled. I not saying it can't be done it's just harder to do.

If you want a birds that you can tame & handle with go with a hand fed Parrotlet. Also I personally wouldn't buy 2 because they will bond with each other & ignore you. And in some cases with 2 they can act aggressive towards you, because they are protecting each other. If your looking for a bird that has a big personality the parrotlet wins hands down. They also live alot longer than the gouldian's.

cages:

for a pair of gouldian's should measure a minimum of 36" long by 14" and 10" wide.

For the parrotlet minimum cage size recommended is 24" long, 16" high & 14 inches deep. The bigger the better I would go for the biggest you can aford. but don't go below those minimum measurements.
