My Green severn fish changes colours, same with my jack dempsey, is there a problem?

  1. depends on the color change type, if they get lighter and lose some color its likely they are stressed due to either water quality,overstock, or no hiding places in tank. another possibility is they are both males, male cichlids change/get more color as they grow mature as where females dont as much.
