Green To Gold eager to complete hat-trick today
Having passed through extensive training during August, the Don Cantillon trained grey gelding, Green To Gold, is now quite confident to bag the ace title of the Book Hospitality At Wolverhampton Racecourse Handicap that will go down at Wolverhampton racecourse
on Monday, September 3.
Over 2 miles and 119 yards, the seven-year-old veteran horse will run with an aim to complete his hat-trick that has been due since he accomplished a couple of consecutive triumphs in the month of July.
Previously, he has not done well on standard surfaces but he is likely to demonstrate a convincing performance today. Hopefully, his month-long training will surely pay him off in the race.
The talented son of Daylami out of Alonsa performed very well in two back-to-back races during July. First, he won the Claydon Horse Exercisers Handicap at Folkestone and then resorted to seal top spot in the Find Us On Facebook Handicap Chase that went
down at Worcester.
These two tremendous triumphs boosted up the gelding’s morale greatly. The trainer, capitalising on that situation, decided to school his pupil for a few weeks with a view to improvise his skills further.
Now, Green To Gold seems to be well-prepared for the challenge he has to face in today’s marathon. It is expected that the experienced gelding will be able to win convincingly as none of his rivals is capable enough to hamper him.
Despite this, he will have to be wary of Looks Like Rain who is desperate to break her maiden. The Brian Ellison trained chestnut filly performed very well in each of her last two starts.
On July 23, the daughter of Medicean out of Hippogator nicely finished as the runner-up in Kingston Bypass Maiden Handicap. She moved ahead to do the same in the very next start entitled as
Greene King Maiden Stakes (Handicap).
After these two decent runs, Looks Like Rain will now try her utmost to go for a triumph. Thus, she has a potential to give tough time to Green To Gold. We can expect a rip-roaring battle in the race. Let us enjoy the way Cantillon’s trainee dances on his
way towards the finish line.
