I am getting a new room soon and would like some ideas for paint colors. I like blue and green right now but now the "girly" kind. I am a 12 year old girl but im not "girly" i want those colors but also a little square of chalkboard paint in my room too. (black obviously) I can seem to make up my mind so if you have any suggestions that would help. I want them to go well together but would also looks fine alone...

thanks

  1. You can use natural earth tones. They seem to complement each other the best, but of course that'll depend on the shade.

The standard - You can get a medium tone, because that's very neutral.

You could always used diluted colors (Blue/green that's light/mixed with white) because those aren't too girly, unless you get pastels. PLUS - Lighter colors open up your room and make it look larger.

But if you're really into the colors and if you're adventurous you could always do richer and dark colors. Depends on your style :]

Look at Paint Color Decks.. where blue and green meet.. like in this one..

You could always go into the store and look at the swatches with your parent or ask for help from an employee :D

  2. if it were me, i'd paint the wall my bed was going on a green. (  http://i38.tinypic.com/nnuszq.png  <-- something like this colour) and then i'd incorporate blues into my room. not just one, but a few fun shades. not dark, somewhere inbetween medium & light. ( http://i38.tinypic.com/vcvx4k.png <-- like this). then i'd go with a white comforter and accenting with both blue and green furnishings.

  3. u should have ur whole room in a like tea green or a cute-ish light green color that will brighter ur room. and then after that, have a bigg strip of a baby baby blue in the middle and have the chalk paint over that strip of blue, but still seeing the color.

hope u get wat im talking about, and hope u have a nice room :D
