Question:

Green card interview question?

Hi my spouse and I are scheduled for a green card interview next month. He just quit his job recently and is in the middle of looking for a new one. I am wondering if this should be an issue when then interview comes around. Are they really only concerned with verifying that the marriage is a real one or will your employment/financial status matter?

Thanks for your help.

  1. If he is obtaining his green card through marriage to a US citizen (you) then I don't think his employment status would necessarily reflect negatively on his application for change of status.  But like you said, if the marriage is a fraud then both of you should beware.
