  1. You need to go home to USA to get treatement.

She cannot be outsuide of USA for more than 1 year at any time or she will LOSE the green card.

  2. What you've discovered, so far, is that most people who post don't know much about immigration.

Correct, she gets a real green card.  She should have entered the US on an IR-1 Visa.

She should get the green card and a social security card in the mail.  I've heard from people that have gone through it that it can be anywhere from a month to several months.

Unless you know for a fact that you both will be returning to the USA to live, permanently, in less than a year she needs to get an approved I-131 before she leaves the USA to go back to China.  This will extend her ability to be absent from the USA for up to 2 years.

I assume she has her A#.  She should immediately file the I-131.  She will need to have bio-metrics taken as a part of getting the I-131.  I've heard the process can take 45 days or longer.  Do it now.

With her green card and approved I-131 she will be allowed to be out of the USA for 2 years, and not 1 day longer.  She CANNOT reset the clock by coming back to the USA for a few days, a few weeks or a few months.  If she doesn't move back here, to live, the green card will be considered abandoned.

  3. She will only get a conditional green card for the first two years anyway.  You are not living in the US, so how are you supporting her?  And how are you going to handle future interviews when you are not living together?  The US citizen is working in China, and the Chinese spouse is in the US?  This is not likely to fly.

Have her return to China with you and forget the green card for the present.  You can sponsor her immigration at some point in the future.
