Green flash? 2 A.M? Fraction of a second.

Question

Well, the other night I was up late and I had stopped to let my dog outside. I took a few steps outside and then I looked up into the sky. As my eyes were returning back to whatever it was I was going to look at. Something similar to the spherical green flashes talked out during storms and sunset had happened but it was very large and hit my whole field of vision. It lasted for less than a second. After i had realized what just happened (seconds) i looked up and seen an airplane but i could see the streaks it left. they were red. that part may be normal but it slowly disappeared in the middle of the sky. Any one got an answer?

A UFO! ...but if you want to be serious then probably a plane? I mean it couldn't be like a bomb or anything.

a light might have blinded you, it happens when you look at a source of light and close your eyes, you see that green thing.

Do you live near a traffic light? It may have been a reflection from a window or something like that at just the right angle when the light changed.
