  1. Most likely a type of Conure because they're the most common of the smaller predominantly green parrots.  However there are MANY birds that fit that description!  Do you remember any of the other markings or colors?  Was the tail long or short compared to the body?  Do you remember head color or tail color or any other markings at all...?  What about its eyes, did it have a white (bare) area in a circle around the eyes?  Could you see its nares (nostrils) or were they covered by feathers?  What color was the cere (if you could see it--the flesh area above the beak where the nostrils are)?  Do you recall the price they were asking?  (Is this in the US?)  That would particularly help.

Any answers you can give should help us with identification!

And that's terrible the pet store owner doesn't even know what he has!  Keep in mind though that birds are different (nicer and quieter) when they're babies than when they're adults!

  3. For goodness sakes DO NOT buy a bird from a store where they dont know what kind of a bird it is. .Do NOT buy a bird until you can recognize at least the common ones. If you are thinking of getting a bird RESEARCH please, A bird is a long time commitment. . Budgies can live to 18 years, conures to 30 (my nanday is 23 )and amazons have been documented to a hundred years.
