we went shopping today. mum was buying banana & found a gree tree frog (99% sure) on the plastic bag :D

we took it home & now it in a fish bowl with grass, water & a rock (: but i dunno what to feed it..

i know i should probably let it go but i was thinking of taking it to school. we have a frog pond & i think it would be best if it had company (: there are plenty of frog there =D

but the problem is.. we JUST finished school. friday was the last day. TT; bad timing much ?

& parents cant be bothered driving there & gates will prob be locked. (though i could prob get in thtough the back..)

so we're prob gonna look after it for the holidays :D

i dont know what to feed it D:

& i dont wanna just set it free randomly cause im paranoid it wont survive & get run over by a car or something ^^;

  1. Usually they will eat crickets,moths,flies and many types of worms. They also eat many different types of insects.They can go 2 and 1/2 days without eating. You can buy crickets and worm at almost any local pet store.

    Good Luck wit ur NEW pet!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  2. set it free down by water somewhere

  3. A green tree frog, what a find! The best thing you can do for him is go down to your local reptile store and buy him some small crickets.  They are a cheap and easy food source for your frog. I too would be cautious about letting him go, I don't know where you live so it's hard to give advice on letting him go, but if you found him on a bunch of banana's at a food store, he may of been transported along with the banana's in transit. Get some advice from a vet, if you call over the phone, they usually don't charge, any professional help is good.

    Make sure his tank has plenty of space because tree frogs love to climb and they are expert escape artists, so make sure the tank has a lid.  You need to make his tank have a degree of humidity, especially if you are thinking of keeping him.  Spray the tank or put some water in the bottom of the tank, but be carefull not to overfill. Depending on where you live, it may be illegal to keep him, make sure you don't need a liscense or special conditions in order to be able to keep him.  And one final thing... Always wash your hands after handling him!!  Don't take him to school, you can't be sure what will happen to him, if he even survives at all, best of luck though :)

  4. if it is a tree frog, putting it by a pond wont do much good. if you enjoy it and have the time and money to take care of it, you should keep it otherwise give it to someone who can. if it was on a banana it probably isnt from around here so this environment would be wrong. feed it baby or adult crickets, depending on the size, or fruit flies if he is really small. dont feed him anything longer than the width between his eyes. if you have him in a fish bowl it is likely that he will climb out as tree frogs dont stay on the ground and have suction cup hands

  5. Here is an article on green tree frogs as pets :)
