  1. using it as mulch can attract turmites. Normally the local land fills chip shread it and use it to cover the garbage at the dump

  2. recycle it. They typically offer a drop off place for recycling of christmas trees.

  3. Mulch

  4. Take your pick:

    1. Cut off the branches and use them to mulch a garden.

    2. Stand it up in the back yard and use it for a bird feeder & animal shelter.

    3. When you have a winter or spring bonfire, include your Christmas tree. (not in your indoor fireplace, unless you use very small pieces)

    4. Take it to your municipality's dropoff location for chipping.

    5. Look into using it in a pond or lake for fish habitat.

    6. If it's a fir or pine, stand it up in a garden that doesn't have any "winter interest" plants in it. Enjoy until spring, when your flowers & perennials begin to pop up.

    7. Ask the farm where you purchased your tree if they have a chipping or other program of their own.

    Good luck, and enjoy!

  5. most tree recycling places use the 'ol mulch it up and sell it back to ya routine.

  6. Take it to get shredded, or, as happens near me, If you live near an area with sand dunes, and coastal erosion - they plant them as a natural windbreak to help stabilise the sand.

  7. you could toss it in a forest nearby so that it can become one of those like nurturing trees or w/e ( a tree that becomes the new home of other plants). or you could recycle it. you could try cutting it into smaller pieces and putting the pieces in your yard waste bin. good luck!

  8. Burn it.

  9. Shred it and make compost.

  10. I drag mine into my backyard and enjoy a nice bonfire.
