Question:

Greencard processing?

I am a US citizen and I had filed for my wife's green card in early June. We sent I-130, I 485, I 765 simultaneously, since she is here in US. She had entered US on F1 visa.

On 5th July we got a notice from USCIS asking her to send her I 539. We sent her medical immediately. An online update shows that they received it on 17th July.

We wanted to know how long would it be before she gets her EAD and greencard ? She still hasn't been called for her biometrics or interview. Would you be able to tell us the process as well what will come after what in normal case scenario.

  1. you can check in www.uscis.gov click on processing time choose which immigration office u sent ur papers to and then check the form u want.

  2. Last year it took me  3 months from filing to get a biometrics appointment, my interview for my green card came about 3 weeks later. It seems processing has slowed a little in many places since them so you need to wait a while yet.

The EAD arrived around the time of my biometrics appointment.

These usually take about 3 months after filing if all paperwork is in order.

Since you were sent a request for evidence (you didn't send the medical information) this may delay your processing. The whole process is smoother and faster if you send everything at once.
