  1. With your background, you may get a 'grey' card!

But keep trying if you are keen to start an uncertain life in a land of gun culture!

  2. You are only 17 years old, you cant get a green card because you aren't considered an adult(I think there use to be a program where if you found an American sponsor through a church or school you can get a temporary student visa, but I think the program changed after 9/11)

  3. Ochen jhal (Я огорченн)!  If you are referring to a US immigration "green card", then people are teasing you; there is no such thing as a "grey card".

Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status, i.e., having a green card, allows persons who hold this status to live and work in the US (and enlist in the US military). There are four basic ways to achieve LPR status: Be petitioned for by an eligible family member (a best friend does not count); having education, skills, or talents which are in demand in the US and which qualify in one of the employment-based or profession-related preferences; having refugee or asylum status based on a well-founded fear of persecution if one returns to the home country; and by a special act of Congress.
