  1. Globalwarminng(that is average temprature of global environment is rising) is a periodical natural phenomenon caused by the greenhouse gases(these are CO2,CO,CFC(chloroflouro carbons)etc present in our environment)

and this effect of these gases on our environment is called as Greenhouse effect, that is these gases prevents the exit of the heat of the rays of sunlight back to the space causing more and more warming and increase in the average global temprature.(Such as A closed window car under sunlight)

Nature itself is the main cause of global warming as some 15,000 years back there was cold age that was also mainly because of  nature, since then it(Global environment) is becoming warmer.

still in our time the global warming is there also mainly caused by natural phenomena  such as volcanic eruptions and Forest fires, traped heat of sunlight in our environment.

Now a days,in recent times(say form last century) the human activities are catalysing Global warming to a significant extent

causing speeding up this Natural process of global warming.

mainly contributed by fossils Fuel emission,Deforestation,CFC based industries such as refrigeration,Pressurrised pakaging,Nuclear tests(above earths surface)

CFC are also the main cause of depletion of the ozone layer

  2. Bob is right, the greenhouse effect is caused by greenhouse gases. They block different wavelengths of radiation and keep them from escaping into space which adds to global warming. Whether or not they cause all or most of the warming is unclear but CO2 certainly does block infrared radiation coming from the Earth's surface and keeps it from escaping into space. Some of that radiation came from the sun, a small amount comes from the Earth itself but the greenhouse gases cause no warming on their own, they merely "trap" heat that was already here.

  3. Greenhouse gases are the (main) cause, global warming is the effect, a rise in the Earth's temperature.

  4. global warming is the earth heating and green house traps the heat inside.

  5. There's no difference.  It was called Greenhouse Effect for a hundred years or so, then people started calling Global Warming in the 1970's.  Bush  changed to Climate Change.  I liked the first one because it was more descriptive, but I agree with the people who chose Global Warming that its easier to understand.  Climate Change makes it vague.

  6. The greenhouse effect is the naturallaly occcuring process of greenhouse gases (CO2, water vapor, methane...) keeping heat in our atmosphere.  Without this effect, the Earth would be frozen and life here would most likely not exist.

However, global warming is caused by an enhanced greenhouse effect.  More and more greenhouse gases are being put into the atmosphere (most likely because of humans) and this is keeping more heat in the atmosphere.

  7. Man made effects are a myth.  Research history and you can deduce this for yourself.  Natural ebb and flow of global temperatures are a result of Sun activity and natural occurrences such as volcanoes and earthquakes, and asteroids and meteors hitting the earth.  Man has had very little effect on these,  and only recently able to record temperatures and weather effectively, and therefore any evidence is questionable.  Research both sides of any issue objectively outside of academia or politics and decide for yourself.  Start with Apocalypse No! for the other side of global warming issue if you have watched Inconvenient Truth.  All sides need to be investigated for the truth.
