Greenlough Ball to take down the red box for stealing the Perry Barr Autumn Sprint
Offering the greyhound racing fans a balanced race to witness at Perry Barr is the Grade OR Perry Barr Autumn Sprint. The 275 metres flat race on Friday, 5th October has gathered six hounds from different backgrounds, those who have excelled at the open level along with those who are coming out of the Grade A1 and Grade T level race shells.
Forming the line-up are Cooneen Fantasy, Tromora Ace, Rushmoor Andy, Greenlough Ball, Cnoc Lad and Highfire Jack.
Rushmoor Andy and Greenlough Ball both have experience at the defined level for the race tonight, but the latter is proficient due to the last two races that culminated into success.
The three-year-old blue dog has been racing since the previous season and has enhanced his racing skills at Perry Barr. Both the successes were at different race courses coupled with varying distance, but at the identical level.
The I Walker trained settled the 305 metres Stadium Bookmakers Sprint Trophy on 17th September, 2012 at Nottingham. He raced in orange due to the fifth trap that he broke from. Setting into an early pace and then taking the leadership role on the track had him on the other end of the wire in 17.99 seconds.
Deprived of success by 1 ¾ lengths was, Corleones Dondon.
Retaining the form had the three-year-old out of, Greenlough Dingo, claiming the £200 prize money of the Bescot Stadium Sprint Division 2 on 21st September, 2012 at Perry Barr over 275 metres.
This time the three-year-old broke from the fourth gate, was quick to set into pace, kept the focus on the middle of the track and was swift to take command nailing the race in 16.25 seconds.
He kept the favourite entry, Blazing Ruso, in the background by heading the extra 1 ¼ lengths.
He retains the same box for the challenge tonight, and will need to look out for the first trap, Cooneen Fantasy, who is known for settling into an early pace in all the four Grade A1 that he took part in, and three of them started off with the box by the rails.
