Okay the question is what should I do? I have 2 options , I can sue the school district or pull my son out and home school... I tried giving the school system another chance this year...It is worse than it was last year. It started with the principal harassing my 10 yr. old son and now after I have pressed charges with the police dept. against them it has gotten worse for him. His teacher has wrote him up 4 times in the last 2 days. And today his teacher made him stand in the corner holding a chair above his head for 30 mins. When his arms started getting tired they threatened to write him up again. He cries when he has to go to school. He cries when he comes home. He is not learning anything and the police have decided to stop helping me. Now it is out of their hands....help......

  1. Please don't send your son into that very hostile environment! I'm not sure what state your in but just keep him home! His safety is the most important thing of all. Why would that teacher even get by with doing something like that. Have you contacted your state board of education? They should be able to help with charges or whatever else needs to be done. I would let them take me to jail for not sending my son to school before I would send him back there.

Good Luck, My Prayers are with you!

  2. That is abuse and harassment of a Minor. You absolutely need to get an attorney, willing to work Pro Bono, but you really need to file a suit against the school because they have traumatized your child terribly which is unlawful, immoral and indecent. You need to take your son to a child psychologist so he can talk out his fears and problems and so he won't keep them all bottled up inside. Holding a chair above his head is a punishment more suited to a prison than a school.

And although I normally do not advocate home schooling, in this instance, I say YES one hundred and one percent!

TAKE HIM OUT RIGHT NOW DO NOT MAKE HIM GO BACK THERE FOR ONE  MORE DAY!!

  3. Goodness, get the homeschool app filled out tonight and drive it to the board of ed in the morning.  Your kid deserves so much better.  Shame on those "teachers." Child abuse is what that is.

  4. Living in SC, I know that there is no notice required to pull your child out of school. The link below gives the different options you have (my family follows option 3 with no problem). Additionally, the Upstate has a lot of homeschooling groups that can offer you support while you go through this.

Are you sure that you can't press charges for child abuse/neglect? Or abuse of power, or something?

Be sure and let us know what you decide to do -- we're praying for you!

  5. I live in Canada and I have a friend that had this sort of stuff going on with her kid in school. Not quite to the extent you have tho - holding a chair over his head for 30 minutes is cruel and unusual punishment for anything at school if you ask me.  This little boy was so looking forward to starting school - he just couldn't wait - and this happened about 3 or 4 months into grade 1.  She pulled him from school and home schooled him for a while.  But be forewarned home schooling is no picnic - you have to be really dedicated to it cuz it is time consuming.  She did this for a few years then decided to put him back in regular school again only to find out he was a good year behind and his social skills sucked from lack of interaction with other kids.  It is only in the last year he has started picking up in school and is doing okay now but  not great except in a couple of subjects.  By the way where   do you live to have this going on.

  6. Please tell me why you would continue to put your child in this classroom?    If this or something even closely similar happened to my child they would never walk back into that school again.    The only thing going into that school would be a lawsuit if I could prove it.

Your child has been terrorized, humiliated and abused.   Does it make sense to leave him there?
