Former Australian captain and Indian coach, Greg Chappell, has denied requests to address the Kangaroo camp to share his precious experience, disappointing the board and players.
Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mickey-Arthur-c1969, requested Chappell a few days back to guide the Aussies ahead of their significant upcoming series against the Men in Blue, but the ex-skipper turned down the offer in a flash.
Talking to the media, Chappell said, “I have not spoken to the Australian team. I will not speak to the Australian team. I don't know from where the news came from.”
Apart from Arthur, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Troy-James-Cooley-c94429, head of centre of excellence, also requested Chappell to share his wisdom and knowledge with the youthful Oz side, claiming that he, on the basis of his past experience with the Blue Shirts, could impart the bowlers some useful
techniques which would help them contain the mighty Indian batting line-up.
Cooley told, “Greg knows all about India's weaknesses and would be helping Australia do everything they can to beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 this summer. He will be able to help out our bowlers. He knows what the strengths and weaknesses are of the Indian batsmen.”
As the Baggy Greens are going to take on the Indians in the 4-Test series with effect from December 26, the biggest threat for them is http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, the ace Indian batsman and the highest scorer of the world, who is looking to score his 100th
international ton on Oz soil. The home time is h**l-bent to prevent the God of Cricket from achieving this feat in its backyard.
In this regard, Chappell’s experience might have been great support for the Kangaroos. The 63-year-old, who has 87 Test and 74 ODI games to his name, coached Team India from 2005 to 2007.
One of the reasons of the former skipper’s refusal might be the harsh comments of the Indian cricket legend, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sourav-Chandidas-Ganguly-c90746, who termed him as ‘mad’ a few days back and regarded his presence in the Oz camp as a good omen for the Men in Blue. Whatever the
cause, this is a big loss for the struggling Aussies.
