Greg LeMond should replace as the UCI President, The Change Cycling Now
USADA’s detailed investigation into Lance Armstrong has totally reshaped the sport of cycling and different reforms have been introduced to ensure such incidents do not recur.
The Change Cycling Now (CCN) movement is taking necessary measures to determine all those responsible for such a huge doping scandal and that they should not be associated with the sports any more.
The organisation has called for UCI President, Pat McQuaid to resign from his post and has supported the former cyclist Greg LeMond to hold the office.
LeMond is a current member of CCN panel and the firm believes that he is the right man to take the responsibilities as the Interim President until UCI’s investigation related to corruption and concludes.
"During that time the president and the honorary president who are both under investigation in that process will be allowed to remain in office," Fuller said.
“In order for the commission's task to remain credible they must stand down and they must stand down immediately. There must be no possibility of conflict of interest from the commission and interim leadership is necessary”.
"Today we're launching the charter of the willing and I'd like to ask the national federations and the IOC and challenge them on why they would not endorse this charter,” he concluded.
CEO of the global sportswear is the founder of CCN and other members on its panel include, LeMond, Michael Ashenden, Paul Kimmage, Jonathan Vaughters, Christophe Bassons and David Walsh.
Lance Armstrong was tested several times throughout his career, but he managed to fool the authorities every single time and kept on doping for over a decade.
He used systematic doping with his former American side, Team US Postal and involved several of his teammates in the lobby.
All the credit goes to USADA who published a detailed 1000 page report along with the recorded testimony of 26 cyclists that was enough to prove Armstrong guilty.
The American has now been disqualified from all the previous victories including seven overall wins at the Tour de France and is a strong candidate to win this year’s ‘Anti-Sportsman of the year award’.
