Greg Maddux’s arrival will help Texas Rangers build strong leadership – MLB News
The Texas Rangers have come up with a very interesting decision of bringing Greg Maddux as special assistant to general manger Jon Daniels and placed a knowledgeable individual to oversee all the matters with more fortitude and vigilance to improve upon
their leadership skills.
Maddux, who is a former Major League professional, has retired from the game in 2008 and now preparing to start a career in baseball front office. His previous time in the Major League has always proved wonderful for him and this new role as special assistant
will also help him build a new career in the MLB.
During a press conference Maddux told the media, “He asked me if I could come over and helps out, it’s baseball. I love being around the clubhouse, the players, the coaches, the atmosphere.”
Later, the Rangers’ general manager Jon Daniels said, “We’re excited to add Greg to our group and look forward to him contributing to the development of our young pitchers; He is considered by many to be an all-around bright baseball mind and should fit
in well with our existing staff.”
Currently the Rangers are in critical phase and trying their best to bring little changes in their front office while this new arrival of Maddux will make a positive impact in the upcoming days especially in the next Major League Baseball season.
Maddux’s arrival in a new role with the Rangers this coming season certainly will lower the leadership burden from some top executives of the franchise as well and enhance his managerial skills.
Maddux is expected to show his leadership abilities during the Spring Training session in early march and is also planning to participate in the Fall Instructional League including the minicamps of Texas Rangers.
Regarding his professional credentials, on which the Rangers were agreed to appoint Maddux as special assistant to GM, are very impressive as well. He has won four Cy Young awards in his career and become the only player to have won four prestigious honours
of Cy Young after Roger Clemens, Johnson and Steve Carlton.
