Greg maddux getting traded?

Question

how could any baseball player getting trade after the deadline. i mea once its the deadline then u cant rade anymore. so why is greg maddux being traded to the dodgers?

i thought the same thing when Adam Dunn went to the Dbacks

Its because the deadline is only for players who have not been waivered(whatever that means)



So  i  guess Maddux had been cleared for waivers so he COULD be traded

you can still be traded if they are cleared thru waivers. The team must offer the player in reverse order of standings and the Dodgers claimed him.

the trade deadline is the "non-waiver" deadline...

so u still can trade
