Gregorian to post his debut graded success through the RSA Thoroughbred Stakes
The Group 3 RSA Thoroughbred Stakes will be contested by fifteen three-year-old runners who come from strikingly different backgrounds. Some have been a part of listed races while some have stepped right out of handicaps and rest have experienced racing
in graded company before. The mile race at Goodwood will be held on Friday, 3rd August.
The winner of the race will get to take back to connections the £31,191 prize money.
Clodovil’s three-year-old bay colt, Gregorian, is one of the most celebrated entries in the race and is supported by 10 to 3 odds. Since the last four races, the under charge of John Gosden has been a part of the Group 1 races and has failed to announce
success through any of them. He has been active five times during the new season.
His career debut in graded race was on 13th May, 2012 in the Group 1 Poule D’Essai Des Poulains at Longchamp over a mile. Lucayan won the race by a very narrow margin as Gregorian parked fifth while riding with jockey, William Buick.
The Irish bay colt met a truly devastating fate in the next stop in the Group 1 Prix Du Jockey Club on 3rd June, 2012 at Chantilly over a mile and 2 ½ furlongs. He ended eighteenth on the track of twenty as the race was won by, Saonois.
If the four group 1 races of the three-year-old out of mare, Three Days In May, get divided into two divisions, then there was a highly remarkable improvement seen in the last two races that Gregorian undertook.
The Rathasker Stud bred ended third in the Group 1 St James’s Palace Stakes (British Champions Series) on 19th June, 2012 at the Ascot race course over a mile. Most Improved won the race by the margin of ¾ of a length and was soon joined by, Hermival.
His fourth in line graded race was in the Prix Jean Prat on 1st July, 2012 at Chantilly over a mile. He ended up as the immensely proud runner-up after missing the race by a length. The race was won by, Aesop’s Fables.
Gregorian will take on the challenge from the tenth stall with rider, William Buick.
