Gregorio Paltrinieri claims Men’s 1500m freestyle gold: Day three - 2012 Sette Colli Meet, Italy
Gregorio Paltrinieri of Italy claimed gold medal of the Men’s 1500m freestyle on third day of the 2012 Sette Colli Meet in Rome, Italy on Saturday, June 16.
The Italian swimmer went full rampant in the distant freestyle discipline as he overwhelmed his challengers on the finishing end for the title of the event. He stayed comfortably ahead of his opponents throughout the discipline and proved his mettle for
top spot on the victory stand.
With his commendable efforts, he remained prominently ahead of his opponents throughout the discipline as he clocked an effort of 14 minutes and 58.33 seconds for gold medal.
The champion remained nearly four seconds faster from Gabriele Detti of Italy, who followed him on the medal rostrum for silver medal by posting a time of 15 minutes and 02.45 seconds.
Third position of the discipline was secured by Detti’s teammate, Samuel Pizzetti, who stayed almost fourteen seconds apart and secured bronze medal of the event by submitting an effort of 15 minutes and 16.32 seconds.
Following that, the third position holder was chased by Devon Brown of South Africa, who was approximately five seconds behind and finished his swim in fourth best place by producing a time of 15 minutes and 21.98 seconds.
Brown was chased by Andrea Fabbroni of Italy, who proved his eligibility for fifth position of the discipline by submitting a time of 15 minutes and 22.15 seconds.
Sixth finest spot of the race was secured by Job Kienhuis of Netherlands, who was 0.17 seconds behind and tapped the finishing blockade with the timing of 15 minutes and 22.15 seconds.
Kienhuis was chased by Gianlorenzo Parmigiani of Italy, who secured seventh best finishing spot of the race by producing a time of 15 minutes and 26.28 seconds.
Last spot of the event was obtained by Tommaso Leopoldo Vio of Italy, who remained almost nineteen seconds apart and posted an effort of 15 minutes and 48.26 seconds for eighth position.
Paltrinieri was overjoyed with his accomplishment in the event and stated that he would work hard to excel in the forthcoming swimming events.
