Hungarian tennis ace, Greta Arn, won the second round qualifying clash against the 124th ranked Kazakh, Sesil Karatantcheva, during the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany. The contest was played on Red clay courts and lasted a fraction over two hours and four minutes.
The first set witnessed the Hungarian tennis icon going down in the opening game and trailing 0-2 at the end of the first two games. However, she registered the first serve hold and broke serve to level the scores at 2-2. She held serve for the second time to consolidate her position. in the set There were no more serve holds witnessed in the opener.
Both players broke serve regularly to push the scores and it seemed like breaking serve was easier than holding it. The Hungarian raised her level of play in the final set and pounced on her opponent with two back-to-back breakthroughs. She took a lead of 4-0 at the start; however, a drop of a serve in the fifth game depleted the lead for a slight time period but it was reinstated in the sixth game with a throbbing break point conversion. A comfortable serve hold ended the match in favour of the Hungarian 33-year-old who marches on into the qualifying competition of the tournament.
The draws for the successful qualifiers will be updated on Monday night.
