My mother in law's previously brown eyes now both appear to have a grey/blue rim around the edges, it looks like she has naturally blue eyes and is wearing brown contact lenses that are too small but she isn't. She is 63.

  1. I noticed the same on my brother-in-law.  I  was told it is high cholesterol.  I don't know if that is true or not.

  2. Very common with age, it is a normal aging change in the cornea -- actually called arcus senilis.  Can also occur with high cholesterol, but that is much less common.
