Greyhound racing lingo - what does "pulled up" mean?

I'm considering adopting a greyhound. While doing so research/reading, I came across some race results of a specific pup. In the comment field of a race, it said "PULLED UP".

What does "PULLED UP" mean?

Other comments in other races are understandable ("from last to 2nd place", "Improved position", etc)

it means that it stopped before completing the race :)
