they lock the dogs in cages for hours and hr. a day from 8 pm-10 am! it is cruel! try being in a cage for14 hrs.!!!!!

As for the rest of you, people who are critical of Greyhound racing tend to be the ones who know the least about it. You've never been to a track, have never seen a kennel, or visited a Greyhound farm, nor do you personally know anyone who is an owner, breeder or trainer. Everything you THINK you know about the sport you've "learned" from web sites put up by groups like PETA who get their information second or third-hand from someone else, most of it exaggerated, misinterpreted, sensationalized, or just plain fiction.

PETA euthanizes more than 90% of the animals they take in. Here in North Carolina, PETA employees were indicted for unlawfully disposing of the remains of several animals they had euthanized by throwing them in a dumpster.

The truth is that "animal rights" groups are personal enrichment schemes that prey on the ignorant. The Humane Society of the United States, for instance, has NO affiliation with your local Humane Society. NONE of the millions they rake in trickles down to your local shelter. Indeed, HSUS officers make upwards of six figures for the dubious achievement of having a web site and publishing some pamphlets. Grey2K is similar. They don't get contributions unless they demonize the people they attack.
