Greyhounds in cars ?

Do you know if it is possible to fit a greyhound in a Ford Focus hatchback in the front passenger footwell with the seat right back. I previously owned a medium sized golden retriever and he fitted alright.

Thanks.

  1. A greyhound is a sighthound and as such would go absolutely wild being stuffed in that area and not able to see!  So whether they fit or not is immaterial.  You can't stuff a greyhound in that space and expect them to stay.  Nor is that a safe spot.

  2. i agree a dog should never be in the front seat.  even a minor accident could be fatal to the dog, especially such a large dog.  if you have a hatchback , put the dog back there.

  3. A dog should never be in the front seat. If you get into a collision, the dog could be crushed, the neck could be broken, the dog could fly through the windshield, bones could be broken, etc.

With a greyhound especially, it needs to be strapped in the back with a dog harness.

  4. As already said by someone else, the dog should go on the back seat, in a harness.
