Gridiron vrs rugby league or union..,big and soft?

Question

Whats with all the pads in Gridiron,are you playing footy or going moto x racing, I mean long pants ( so as not to get grass burn) more padding than a punching bag,and helmuts.

League on the other hand ,no helmut (unless previously knocked out)and then its only 6mm thick.Pads what pads and shorts not long g*y bike pants

i think the usa are probably more worried of injuries and stuff. A couple years back when the aussies played them in league the usa team was made from alot of gridiron players. After the game the recon is was the most enduring physical sport in the world.

They tackle differently in gridiron. They pretty much put all the force into shoulder charges instead of wrestling the player to the ground. If they didn't wear the protective gear they'd have to change the way they make contact and would have to tackle like we do in rugby. I agree, far too many stoppages and interchanges in gridiron. You don't really need to be fit to play it.

In rugby you keep playing through your exhaustion and wear the other team down. That's what makes it an exciting.

Have played all 3 codes and this is how i rate them rugby union the hardest with leauge a very very close 2nd and  gridiron a long distant 3rd, i found that i needed more stamina & to think more in union where in league i needed to be faster and have a strong upper body with good leg strength, as for gridiron they thought i was nuts that i played the other codes they just couldn"t work why we didn"t wear pads, i must admitt though you are now starting to see more players wear shoulder pads because of the physical nature of the sport.

to tell you the truth gridiron is a game of hard hitting body contact, I take it you don't understand the gridiron sport, which is kool with me, I did not understand rugby or aussie rules football either until I watched it over an over again  here is a website here in the states you can check out    www.nfl.com     or go to google and type in NFL .  this will give you a better understanding of the game. i reckon they get all padded up have one play then they go have a break for ten minutes soft as.

Dallas johnson from the storm got knocked out cold 3 times before he decided to get a headgear and there prettty much a peice of sponge.

League and union are so different from gridiron...if I knew more about it..I'd make a judgement but from what I see gridiron does not look soft
