Grillagh Guru grills the competition in A2 race at Swindon
The 480m A2 race held during the afternoon race meeting at the Swindon Greyhound Stadium on Monday 22 November featured many highlights. One of them was a great win from Grillagh Guru,
while the other was a tie for second place.
Starting from trap three, Grillagh Guru (11-4) led fourth, and would later parlay that lead into a win, finishing the race with a time of 29.25. After going wide, Petite Snowei (4-1) led
second to fourth. She placed second in 29.39, which was 1¾ lengths behind the winner.
Bua Dubh (9-1) tied Petite Snowei for second place with a matching time of 29.39. He went wide and moved slowly away, but quickly bounced back to finish in a dead heat tie. The tie placed
Lisnakill Myles (7-2) in the fourth position. He led to second, but could not propel himself into the top three. He finished in 29.47, 1 length behind the joint second-place finishers.
Avit was the 9-4 favourite in this race, but he dropped to fifth place after crowding first. He went on to complete the race in 29.51, a ½ length out of fourth place. Rounding out the
pack was Cefn Cariad (4-1). She crowded first and second and finished 1 ¾ lengths behind Avit in 29.65.
Swift Euro, the 7-4 favourite in the 480m A3 race that followed, went wide from trap six, but always led the pack. As a result, he lay claim on the top spot with no trouble at all, finishing
in 29.36. Molly The Second (5-1) lived up to her name by finishing in second place. A clear run led her to a 29.48 finish that was 1½ lengths behind the winner.
Kilmore Celtic (7-2) had a decent start, running on to complete the race in 29.74 to lock up third place. A distance of 3¼ lengths separated him from second place. Fourth place belonged
to Sirmoffchopinton (4-1). Despite a clear run, he failed to crack the top three. He finished in 29.84, 1¼ lengths behind third place.
Last Show (7-1) moved very slowly away from the pack after going wide. She would go on to post a time of 29.94 that gave her fifth place. He was 1¼ lengths behind Sirmoffchopinton. Rounding
out the pack was Crinkill King (9-1), who took last place after moving slowly away. His finishing time of 30.00 placed him ¾ lengths out of fifth place.
Swindon Greyhound Stadium will play host to another exciting race meeting on Wednesday 24 November. The first race of the evening will get under way at 18:28.
