Question:

Grinding when turning left

when ever i turn my wheel to the left i hear a grinding noise and a little bit of a squeek its no a constant squeek but i can only hear it when turning left. in the morning after the cars been sitting overnight the grinding is worse but as i turn the wheel left more it gets quieter to a certain point where u can hear it still but itsnt as bad as when i 1st started it.. what could it be? and how much would u estimate it would cost to repair?

  1. CV joint, or strut. most likely CV. it will continue to get worse as time goes by. the cost is different for different models &makes. have it checked at a front end place, alighnment,etc. this is a classic example of a CV going bad! the bearings are bad in it or possibly you damaged the boot and are drying up your grease.

    good luck. not cheap, but not real expensive. 150-200$

    depending on many factors, who does it, what make, model!


  2. sounds like a tie rod....go get a free estimate...but it should cost about 60 bucks give or take.
