Lately I've noticed that whenever I'm really cold or shivering, I make my hands into a fist, over, and over until I get warmer. Does anyone know why I do that..?

  1. natural response....you're creating friction with your hands which in turn warms them

  2. Making a fist with your hand over & over increases the blood circulation thus making you warmer, the same as if you were to jump up and down.  I would suggest a warmer coat and a pair of good gloves if the hand movement really bothers you.
