Choosing to bat first, Griqualand West managed to amass 208 runs in 48.5 overs. Openers RA Adams and GL Cloete staggered 23 runs together, before North West made their first breakthrough by nabbing the wicket of Adams, who perished after scoring only three runs.
The second-wicket partnership between GL Cloete and AR Swanepoel steered the side to 37 runs before Swanepoel was removed by Klein on a score of 11.
N Bredenkamp and GL Cloete while playing confidently, took their side towards 78 runs, before Deeb ended the partnership by dismissing Bredenkamp on 13.
With 107 on the board, the batting side saw their skipper walk back to the pavilion after he was dismissed for nine runs.
Having lost four wickets the batting side was caught in a spot of bother and required a big innings from someone in the middle.
AK Kruger forged a potent partnership alongside GL Cloete as the duo took the score to 156 before the opener met his demise after hammering a resounding knock of 85 runs.
Later with 190 on the board, Kruger lost his wicket on a run out after hammering 35 off 50 balls.
After successfully posting a fightable total, Griqualand West needed a majestic bowling performance to restrict the opposition from reaching the required target.
