I was aware only of East Griqualand in the Eastern Cape.

Who are or were th Griquas, I wonder?

Griekwas (or the old name of Griekwaland West) is one of the oldest unions in SA rugby. They have won the Currie Cup 3 times (1899, 1911, 1970) and the headquarters are in the diamond capital of SA, Kimberly.
