Grischa Janorschke left out from Team NetApp squad after the Paris-Roubaix crash
Grischa Janorschke of Team NetApp was involved in one of the worst crashes of the season.
The cyclist fractured his elbow during the Paris-Roubaix which was his third crash in the current season already.
The 24-year-old experienced his first crash of the season at Ronde van Drenthe and broke his collarbone during the event which left him with nine screws and a plate in his neck.
The cyclist lost his balance during the Scheldeprijs and received stitches at back of the head which raised question marks on his inclusion at the Paris-Roubaix.
He launched an attack during the French race and was riding at a lightning speed around 50 – 55 kilometres.
The puncture at a high speed brought Grischa brought him to ground as it was impossible to avoid it.
The cyclist has now left the hospital after the treatment but his return to the peloton is still not certain.
While commenting on the crash, he told Cyclingnews, “There an operation removed a ruptured bursa and unfortunately they also found a splintering in my elbow as well as a fracture in the head of the radius.”
“In the beginning it was a really big fight, nearly every team wanted to be represented and especially for the teams without a top favourite ", he concluded.
“It is of course very irritating and difficult that after this newest injury I must start from the beginning again, but fortunately the season is long and I hope one day to be rewarded for my determination”.
Team NetApp was founded back in 2010 with an impressive start to its debut season.
The team picked up numerous victories in its debut season including the stage wins at the Tour de Normandie, Tour Alsace and the Tour de Slovaquie.
The team opened its 2012 winning account at the Settimana internazionale di Coppi e Bartali by claiming an overall victory and two stages at the race.
Jan Barta helped the German side with the place one finish at the Rund um Koln and is now looking ahead to help the team in the coming events.
Janorschke’s absence now puts more pressure on the young shoulders of Jan Barta for the coming part of the season.
