Grizzle tipped to prevail in Silk Mill Bar (Ripponden) Handicap
Grizzle is tipped to win the Silk Mill Bar (Ripponden) Handicap at Haydock in England on Thursday, June 14, 2012. A cash prize of £4,205 will be awarded to the winner of the class-4 event.
Speed will be the determining factor in the race, which is scheduled to start at 19:50 GMT. Furthermore, the going will be good in the 7 furlong event, which has attracted the following runners: Dos Amigos, Gabrial´s Bounty, Amadeus Wolfe Tone, Grizzle,
Strada Facendo, Ebony Clarets, Ardmay, Commanche, Berlusca and Not Bad For A Boy.
Earlier, Abi Scarlet was also lined up for action at Haydock, but her participation is doubtful now. She was one of the top contenders for victory, as her record is quite impressive. The punters would have placed a lot of bets on her, as she has won three
races out of six attempts.
Looking at the remaining participants, the one with the best speed appears to be Grizzle. The conditions will definitely suit him today, thus the bettors will be interested in risking some money on him.
The three-year-old colt has participated in eight events, but has only managed to win once. Although his strike rate is not good, he has secured the runner up spot thrice whereas finished third on a couple of times. This means that he only dropped out of
top three twice in his career.
The Mahmood Al Zarooni’s trainee was unable to make a solid impression in his previous outing, as he finished 17th overall. He was not rated as the favourite to win, but was still expected to give a tough time to his opponents.
However, Grizzle has the potential to bounce back strongly today. He will be partnered by Mickael Barzalona, who is known to be a very consistent rider and has got an impressive strike rate at this level. He will be looking forward to a strong show at Haydock
today.
The bookies have more confidence in the abilities of Dos Amigos, who is carrying a decent momentum at the moment. He has participated in just a couple of races until now, winning one of them and finishing third in the other.
